I have a swf file that I would like to put on a cd and then give the cd to people to look at. I have a few questions though.

1. Should I burn the swf file unto the cd and then have the auto run point to that file?
2. Into what will the cd open when it is put into the computer?
3. Should I publish it as a exe file and then have the auto run point to that file?

In other words, what is the best way to go about this. I'm not sure if one would need the Flash player to view it and how to get around that if need be, etc.

The answer is to publish the SWF as a projector file (an .EXE file) and have the auto run point to that EXE. The Flash projector will embed the Flash player into the EXE, so you won't have to worry about the client having Flash installed.

If you really wanted a professional presentation, you would publish to a SWF and use MDM Zinc or SWF Studio to publish a custom projector (where you could customize the application icon and have more access to the operating system). But for a simple application, the Flash projector is probably fine.

If you still need it I want to advise you the program I use – Flash To Video Encoder PRO. It burns flash to CD/DVD & converts flash to video. Has free trial version.
Have a look.
